Ingredients
  • All-purpose flour - 2 ¾ cup
  • Active Dry Yeast or Rapid Rise Yeast - 1 Envelope or 1 Tablespoon
  • Lukewarm water - approx: 1 cup, refer notes
  • Olive oil OR Vegetable oil - 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 Teaspoon
  • Additional flour for dusting
Directions
  1. In a bowl, add in the yeast, lukewarm water and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes or until the yeast rise.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add in the flour, salt and combine well.
  3. Pour in 2 tablespoons of oil and ½ of yeast mixture and knead well.
  4. Then add in the rest of yeast mixture and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 6-10 minutes. Shape dough into a ball shape.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a towel and let the dough rise at room temperature until doubled, about 1-2 hours.
  6. Lightly dust the work surface with flour, place the dough and knead slightly. Pull the dough around to the bottom, and make a smooth surfaced ball.
  7. Use as per the pizza recipe directions.

Yield: Makes approx: 500 Gms of dough, enough for a 14-inch medium-thick crust pizza.

Notes:

  • Get 1 cup of lukewarm water and take off 2 Tablespoon of water from it. Use the rest of water to soak the yeast.
  • Adding excess water into the pizza dough, produce bubbles in the crust while baking.
