Ingredients
  • Finely chopped Cabbage - 2 ½ cup
  • Red Pearl Onions - 5-8 Nos, finely chopped
  • Grated coconut - ¾ cup
  • Green chilli - 2 Nos, finely chopped
  • Finely chopped Ginger - ½ Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering:

  • Mustard seeds - ½ Teaspoon
  • Dried red chilli - 1 Nos
  • Coconut oil - 2 Tablespoon
Directions
  1. In a bowl, add in the grated coconut, chopped cabbage, pearl onions, green chillies, ginger, turmeric powder, curry leaves, salt and mix well using your hands. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds. Then add in the dried chilli and fry for few seconds on low heat.
  3. Lower the heat, add in the cabbage mixture and combine well.
  4. Bring everything to the center of the pan and pat down the mixture tightly using the back of a spoon. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes on very low heat. In between, stir 2-3 times to make sure that the bottom is not getting burned. Adjust salt, if required.
  5. Once the cabbage is cooked well, remove the lid and stir fry for another 2-4 minutes on low-medium heat.
  6. Serve hot with rice.
