Ingredients
  • Sardine, medium sized - 5 Nos, approx: 500 Gms
  • Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - ¾ Tablespoon
  • Black pepper powder - 1 Tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1-2 cloves, crushed
  • Lemon Juice - 1 Tablespoon
  • Water - 1-2 Tablespoon
  • Coconut oil - 3-4 Tablespoon
  • Curry leaves - 4-5 leaves
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  1. Clean, wash and make some gashes on each side of the fish. Drain the water completely.
  2. Mix together the pepper powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed garlic, lemon juice and salt with little water and make a thick paste.
  3. Marinate the fish pieces with this paste and set aside for 30 minutes. Make sure to apply the paste in the gashes and inside the stomach portion.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, and spread the oil evenly in the pan. Place the marinated fish pieces in the oil and add the curry leaves.
  5. Shallow fry the fish for about 6-8 minutes in low-medium heat. Then flip carefully to the other side and fry for about another 5-6 minutes.
  6. Then transfer to a kitchen paper towel. Serve hot with rice.
