  • All-purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Baking soda - ½ Teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar - ½ - ¾ cup, adjust according to your taste
  • Butter, melted and cooled - ½ cup
  • Cardamom powder - ½ Teaspoon
  • Almonds, crushed or sliced for garnishing, optional
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, mix together the melted butter and powdered sugar to a smooth batter.
  4. Add in the cardamom powder and mix well.
  5. Add in the flour-baking soda mixture as 3-4 batches, knead together to form a smooth dough. Set aside for 1 hour.
  6. After 1 hour, divide the dough into small lemon sized balls and arrange it on cookie tray. Leave enough space between each cookies.
  7. Slightly flatten each balls, place some sliced almonds(if using) on top and gently press the almonds.
  8. Bake for about 12-16 minutes or until slightly golden on top.
  9. Remove from oven and keep it in cookie tray until completely cooled.

Yield: Makes about 12-15 cookies
